TO THE LIBERAL LEFT ON OIL COSTS AND WHAT
TO DO ABOUT IT

As we watch the daily news
coverage about oil prices, it’s obvious
there’s more Bs being passed around….as
usual. Whenever you want to make a liberal angry
and blue in the face, use the responses or maybe
a variation of them below to get the job done.
It amazes me how brainwashed and blinded
Americans must be that they can't even comprehend
the scope of socialistic bias their news coverage
is night after night. They have been so
conditioned to believe that news networks are
honest and fair (yea right!!) about the news
coverage they get daily.
1)
Nationalize the oil industry you say.
You really want to turn the
control of the oil industry over to the Federal
Government to nationalize it? You fail to
remember that our government isn’t subject
to the laws of economics. They don’t seem to
be subject to the laws of our country or
it’s Constitution.
When you get lawmakers who don’t have an
ounce of wit about them over how economics works
and put them in charge over a vital resource, the
end results will horrify you. Look what they have
done to other institutions such as Education,
Military funding (or should I say, non-funding),
our Veterans hospitals across the country, and
other bet projects they have control over.
It's time to unleash
the free market to begin exploring and pumping
domestic crude oil and getting it to market as
fast as possible.
2) Oil profits are
too high you say.
I’m curious, the oil
companies make between 6 and 8 cents off every
gallon of gas sold, and they take all the risks
to produce a gallon of gas. Government, on the
other hand, takes several times more in taxation
and takes no risk whatsoever. In other words,
government makes a profit off oil companies for
doing nothing, both in the production of oil, and
in general. You think they make too much a
profit!
That’s like one telling a Donut Shop owner
that they make too much profit. We are a
Capitalistic society. Our goals in this life, in
this country, is to make profits in all we want
to do. Whatever our businesses are, we are in a
business to make a profit. Oil companies are no
different. I guess you’d tell Donald Trump
he makes too much profit also, or GM and Ford
Companies.

3)
Oil speculators are the ones driving up the price
of oil.
Another
of the soundbites from liberals. Although
commodity speculation is betting that a certain
commodity will be at a certain price, at a
certain time, it's BETTING!
Speculation happens with
all commodities. Speculation is just
that….SPECULATION! It does not impact the
price of oil whatsoever. It’s like betting
that Americans will win all the Gold Medals in
the Olympics this year. There is no impact on who
will win and how many Gold Metals any of our
American teams will win.

4)The
liberals say a windfall profits tax is a good
idea.
Presidential Candidate
Obama and his liberal party, likes to throw this
idea (Bs) around a lot. Here we go with the
“profits” soundbite again. What would
you say, umm, constitutes “excessive”
profits? This entire concept is based on
punishing one person, or company, for making a
profit.
I guess you would like to see the Feds. cast
their windfall profits tax on lots of big
companies, right!
What decreases the incentive to make profits?
Taxing profits enough….which ultimately
drives our economy down! Giving incentives to
make profits...drives our economy up! Whom do you
suppose has a plan to make up for the lost
revenue from the oil companies shutting down that
the liberals want to hit with a windfall profit
tax? Ultimately, THE AMERICAN TAX PAYER….YOU
AND ME… will be chosen to make it up!
Do you not get the picture of oil companies going
out of business; lay-offs in the thousands; and
your fuel costs skyrocketing?I

5)
Drilling would take 10 years for the oil to get
to market.
10
years? That’s not what the oil companies are
saying. The technology and the incentives to
drill oil is better than it has ever been in the
past. I know that if we left the oil companies to
their own abilities and resources and gave them a
more challenging timetable, we would see oil
hitting the market before 10 years.
They
are saying that taking shale from Colorado can be
done by the year 2015. That’s 7 years from
now.
It would take longer than that to find and
develop bio-fuels. You will be riding your
bicycles and scooters before that stuff hits the
market.

6)
Drilling isn’t the answer because there
isn’t enough supply to make a difference.
There is
enough supply here in America. America is
surrounded by ocean. Off-shore drilling is not a
problem unless we can’t find any oil and
that I doubt. America has vast open lands across
her, that can be explored for oil and gas. ANWR
is ready to drill. Alaska has oil. If we get our
act together by setting our goals, and the
Democrat liberals get out of our way, we will
have enough oil right here at home pretty fast.
If we really want to be energy independent,
(which we know the liberals and environmentalists
don’t want us to be), we will be.

7) Why should we
drill when oil companies are sitting on oil
fields.
Many
moons ago, the liberals shut down oil companies
from drilling. They capped them off. There is oil
rigs that aren’t in operation right now. We
have capped off oil wells across Texas, Oklahoma,
Southern California, and probably many other
places. You can see these all across
America…rigs just pumping up and
down…but not pumping anything out. It’s
unlikely that oil companies would be sitting on
oil that could be brought out of the ground,
unless they were stopped in years past, by our
government (which is what happened). If the oil
companies were as greedy as the liberals think
they are, that oil would be coming up out of the
ground to ensure they make as much money as they
can.
Like
I said above…that’s CAPITALIZM folks!

If we drill in ANWR, it will be ruined.
Oil
companies have made technical strides in
protecting the environment where they drill. Oil
companies are doing something to make sure they
don’t pollute.
You
haven’t seen ANWR I’m sure. I know! I
know!, I’ve seen the same pictures you have
on the news networks supposedly depicting ANWR
and it's wildlife. What you will not be seeing
from our news networks, is their taking oil
company head-honchos and personnel to ANWR, along
with camra crews, to show the real pictures of
where drilling would be done.
With
the oil companies ‘environmental’ track
record, we’d be irresponsible to NOT let
them drill in
ANWR.

9)
Conservation is the only key to the oil problem.
Conserving a limited resource
is a ‘commonsense’ idea. Of course!
But, however, where the oil issue is right now,
we aren’t getting anywhere because we have
so many working against solving the problem in
a timely manner. All we are getting from the
liberals is flights of fancy visualizing methods
of solving this problem which are only unproven
methods, to say the least. Costly bio-fuels, wind
and solar are their answers to conservation. But
remember, liberals would love to see less
vehicles on our highways and byways and more
bicycles and scooters. That’s how far their
“Conservation” will take you. And,
while you are paying more taxes for these new
solutions in the making, I wonder how many of you
can afford to trade your fuel driven cars in for
the new models of bio-fuel or battery operated
cars, trucks and 18 wheelers?
Oh!
You say! They will make it to where we can just
add or fit new equipment to our vehicles to
become bio energy efficient. AT WHAT COST?
Who is going to pay for the 18 wheelers (that
bring all our commodities to us across this
country), to be equipped with this new equipment?
YOU AND I…higher food cost, higher
everything…just like right now.

10) Reducing our
dependency on oil can only mean Bio-fuels.
Bio-fuels
have been touted by the liberals as a sufficient
energy source…wind and solar also. Their
claims have not had positive results. It takes
more ‘energy’ to produce bio-fuels than
to produce a barrel of oil. If our planet is in
such danger, as the environmentalists want us to
believe, then bio-fuel, wind and solar is not the
way to go. Energy independence needs more in the
short run than ‘ideas’ that might or
might not work.
And
last, but not least....It's
time to unleash the free
market to begin exploring and pumping domestic
crude oil and getting it to market as fast as
possible.

It's time
for Americans to persuade Congress
to get out of the way of energy independence.
